Welcome to Year 6 at Thorndown Primary School – an inspiring yet busy year, packed full of new opportunities to excel both in and out of the classroom. Year 6 is a very special year in your child’s primary school journey. It is a year filled with new challenges, exciting opportunities and plenty of moments to celebrate.
There is certainly plenty to look forward to! From exciting learning experiences and leadership opportunities of Reading and Oracy Champions, the end of year performance, sporting events and special Year 6 traditions, this is a year where children can make lasting memories and truly shine.
Although Year 6 is a busy year, we want our children to enjoy every moment of it. We will support them to become confident, resilient and independent learners, while ensuring they have lots of fun along the way. We know that the year will whizz by, and before we know it, we will be proudly watching our Year 6 children take their next steps and begin their exciting secondary school adventures.
